Story

a dinner at sunset on our family-owned farm. The first dinners were just for our family as a way to reconnect during the busy growing and harvest seasons; a chance to share home-cooked food and a glass of wine or cider. From there a simple idea began to take root—an idea that would blossom into the much-anticipated “Dinner in the Orchard.”

As Dinner in the Orchard became available to the public, careful consideration was given to what we wanted the experience to not only look like but how it would feel to those who came to dine with us. A long table would bring friends and strangers together. Flowers would be bursts of color on the tables and when possible, they would come from our own flower fields. Candles would flicker in the twilight, lending warmth to the cool evening air and locally sourced food would be passed down the table, connecting everyone as the night progressed. Dinners were designed to create an experience that would be as much about the people as it was about the food.

Laura began dinner in the orchard as a way to celebrate the harvest and bring our Riverview Farm family together and over the years, Amy took the reins to continue this tradition, welcoming in the public. She aimed to maintain the rustic charm and stay true to the values surrounding the farm: community, sustainability, natural beauty and family.

With a heartfelt commitment to showcasing the bounty of Riverview Farm and the surrounding farm community, Dinner in the Orchard has collaborated with many chefs and caterers over the years, each of them sharing the same core value that it takes a village to create something truly sustainable. Our dinners are community-to-table!

We look forward to sharing this unique experience with you and hope that you find the evenings just as relaxing and enriching as we have over the years.
